bittersweet

One good thing about staying at KP (well, not JUST the one, there is the free loading bit and all… but one of the best things about staying at KP no doubt, hehe) is the countless good-looking guys who walk past me each day at KLCC. Sigh…

Too bad they just walk PAST me. Dang.

Today, actually, yesterday, my horoscope was spot on. It was great. It said something great was gonna happen and it did. I wanted to leap for joy but there were weird people around me and I didn’t want to encourage any kind of communication with them so I kept quiet. I swear my heart was grinning from one blood vessel to the other though.

But, amid all the good-looking yobs, the good news and the MI:3 premiere invites that I scored yesterday afternoon, is a sad little note that I got from home.

:(

For DK and son:

Empty-handed I entered the world

Barefoot I leave it.

My coming, my going —

Two simple happenings

That got entangled.

here, there and back again

So I’m out of motel S17 and now staying at KP. The commute’s a bitch, almost an hour, which does not even include the needless detours at KLCC that I usually make, running errands for people and well, myself. The crowd at KLCC also can be a bit annoying, especially at 11am, when everyone SHOULD either be at work, at school, at the gym or at the salon or something. Instead, they all come over to KLCC. And they come in droves. It’s a weekday for sh1te’s sake, stop crowding the mall!

Well, at least this will all be over in another week and a half. I love a big crowd really, but when they get in your way while you’re heading for work it can get a little irritating. And, the smell of sweat and a billion kinds of perfumes can be a bit much to bear too sometimes. Especially when you’re stuck within the confines of an LRT car. Sheesh.

It’s been a hoot bumming around at Rats, though. I love pretending like I belong in the posh life. Heh. She’s never around so I figure I’m doing her a favour by housesitting. Hehe. I’m sure she sees it differently but whatever.

Next stop? Probably back to Subang, at Pat’s, which will be another HUGE headache for me since her place is so not accessible for car-less princesses like moi. I wonder if Subangites are prone to picking up strange-looking hitchhikers…? "Excuse me ah, you going PJ? Can follow ah?" Pat’s housemate’s gone from the house, but so is the bed apparently. So, if I do go there I gotta pack myself a sleeping bag or something…

now let me ask you:

HOW SAD IS THAT???

Bunking at a a friend’s, with a bag, a backpack and a freaking sleeping bag in tow. Like camping without the fresh air and the cute sounds of the wild. Three years ago I probably wouldn’t have mind so much. In fact, I would have probably thought it was cool. Like one of those characters in those cool indie movies or something…

But at 30, living out of your suitcase, and by the good graces of your friends, is so damn pathetic. Ugh.

Can’t help it though, things have been very rough and everything’s taking too damn long to fall into place nicely, so until it does, I just have to swallow my pride, push that big ego of mine aside and well, ask for help. It isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, some friends really are nice and undertanding! :)

Sometimes I wonder if things would be easier for me if I just packed my bags and head home. At least for a month or something. At least I don’t have to worry about where to sleep and how to get to work. And mum or dad will cook for me everyday…

The other option is Singapore. I can go and live with my cousins, where I will act as a babysitter to my beautiful niece Sarah. Heh. Speaking of Singapore, I guess I’ll have to miss this:

Dang. I was really looking forward to this year’s since I missed last year’s. I hate missing the film fest. It’s been a part of my career for as long as I can remember. Damn all the changes.

Oh well.

Hopefully, my bags and other worldly things I left behind at S17 will get unpacked soon enough.  God only knows how long they’ve been in storage. :(
