Where was Santa?

Thursday, December 29th, 2005

I went back to my hometown recently. It’s been 10 months since I last went back and many years since I was home for Christmas, and I must say, it’s pretty boring. Haha. On Christmas Day I was at home alone, watching Christmas shows on TV and cooking dinner for the family, who went to the orchard. They caught fish for me, which I brought back to KL, of course.

The days leading up to Christmas weres ok though, and so were the days after Christmas. I was home for six days only, partly bTreeecause I couldn’t get an earlier flight, and also because I had to work on the 27th.

As usual, I met my cousins and some of my aunties and uncles, and my hordes of nieces and nephews. Also managed to meet up with my friends, and "bumped" into some very unexpected guests too. Heh heh.

To those who didn’t know I was home and to those whom I didn’t manage to meet up with (the boys mostly, oops), sorry lor. Basically nobody knew I was going back (except for a few friends in KL) so my mum and dad were pleasantly surprised when I arrived. Well, I’d like to think that they were pleasantly surprised.

Lots of things happened, but I won’t bore anyone with the details, and the ones that were interesting can’t be repeated here. So, I’ll just let some pictures do the talking. More piccies

Once again, have a jolly Christmas (the 12 days ain’t over yet!) and a grrreeat 2006! Gang

When I was younger, When I was just a little girl… I had a daughter. Or at least, I pretended I had a daughter. Whenever my four cousins from "out-of-town" came to the "mainland" for a visit (oh, they know who they are *wink wink*), I would always pretend that one of them was my kid.

It’s sick, I know, but like I said, I was just a little girl who was never shy to walk around the neighbourhood in Hello Kitty underwear. Now, stop it, perverts.

Anyways, Cousin Number 3 was the docile one among the four of them. The eldest was the same age as I, Number 2 was too naughty and was a tattle-tale, and Number 4 was too small and always bawling for no reason.

Number 3 was perfect. She kept quiet most of the time and happily did all my bidding. In return, I gave her treats. Yeah I guess I treated her more like a puppy than a daughter…. heh heh. Oh well, no harm, no foul.

A few days ago I got a text msg from Number 1 saying that Number 3 has gotten engaged and will probably get married sometime next year.

Oh wow. My daughter’s getting married. As the "mother" of the bride, I couldn’t be happier for the couple, and for Numbers 1, 2 and 4 (as well as for 2A and 2b, haha) for their new family member.

Debs

So, CONGRATULATIONS DEBS AND DON! Looking forward to the wedding :)

ps/ To answer your burning question: YES, I had a very healthy childhood, thank you very much.

Btw, to my other cousins in the mainland, here’s my list:

iPod shuffle sticker

Five pairs of colourful stripey socks

A bottle of Pinot Grigio

A set of make-up brush

A funky cloth bag, no PVC please

A Merry Christmas :P

Tom Cruise is an @$$

Thursday, December 1st, 2005

Hello.

Was supposed to be in Shanghai earlier this week but Tom Cruise ain’t receiving the media. He is, however, going around Shanghai with a perpetually sick-looking Katie Holmes in tow, catching in acrobatic shows and the like. What a dumb ass.

(To the Aunty fellowship: yeah, after all that excitement, my trip was cancelled ONE day before travel. Hmph)

I’m not a great fan of Tom Cruise but I don’t mind meeting him. And I was kinda looking forward to Shanghai. Seems like a cool place to be. Was hoping to brush up on my rubbish Mandarin: Ni hao ma? Ni shuo se-mo? Wo yau he shui… Wo pu huay chiang hua yi… heh.

So instead of Tom Cruise, I’ll be meeting one of my favourite comedians. Hah. Better luck for me then eh? Liz, I’ll be at the opposite side of where you’ll be and I’m flying on the same day, but way earlier… Yes, I’m trying to be vague. Mysterious sikit mah…

Will tell you all about it when I get back.

:)

Wish me luck!

p/s I hope Mission Impossible 3 sucks. Can I get any bitter than this? Must be old age…
